Privacy Statement for Amharic Tutor

Amharic Tutor collects limited information needed to operate the app and provide its learning features. This may include registration information such as username and email address, lesson progress, subscription status, speech-to-text credit usage, purchase-related records, and technical information needed to support app functionality, security, and troubleshooting.

We use this information to create and manage user accounts, save learning progress, provide lessons and exercises, manage subscriptions and speech-to-text credits, process pronunciation and speech-recognition features, improve app performance, prevent misuse, and provide user support.

When users use pronunciation or speech-recognition features, recorded audio may be sent to our backend and/or Google Cloud Speech-to-Text for transcription and evaluation. Speech recognition results may vary depending on pronunciation, accent, background noise, device quality, and service limitations.

In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed by the applicable app store or payment provider. Amharic Tutor does not directly store payment card details.

We do not sell personal information and do not share user data with third-party advertising networks or data brokers. In the future, we may use email addresses to send product updates, learning tips, new feature announcements, or other app-related communications. Users will be able to opt out of marketing communications where applicable.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect user information, but no system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. We may retain account, progress, usage, and transaction-related information as needed to provide the app, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent misuse, and maintain security.  Users can  delete their account using the delete account feature in the App. This feature deletes the user account and associated app data, clears locally stored access and refresh tokens, and clears local launch/session states.

If a child uses Amharic Tutor, a parent or guardian should supervise account registration and app use to prevent unauthorized subscriptions and token purchases.
